You will love this Solidarity Pendant, Inspirational Symbolic Jewelry by K Robins Designs.Â
“I’m over here in Monroe County, WV and have been fighting fracking for years. For the last 13 months my world has been consumed with MVP opposition and every single one of the tens of thousands of emails I send I sign: “in solidarity”. Several months ago a woman in our county brought me a wee box and inside was this beautiful solidarity pendant. It lives next to my heart and I feel certain that some day my caressing fingers will have worn it to a sliver! This week my daughter, in California, finally prevailed against the managerial black balling and succeeded in unionizing 13 medical clinics in Santa Cruz…with an unprecedented 100% voter turnout!! Her belief in solidarity propelled her forward in the struggle. When I fly out to her this Xmas I will lay the same wee box with a pendant identical to my own into her hand….and I know she will treasure it just as I do. I thank you deeply, K, for creating these pieces. They’re so much more than ornamentation. Mine is very much a talisman and a constant comfort. So, dear one, please know that your vision lives within the soul of my family.” Laurie

SOLIDARITYÂ is a sterling silver pendant inspired by the amazing, passionate, well informed people in Nelson County Virginia. While Dominion Resources and Duke Energy prematurely count all the money they will be making from the Atlantic Coast Pipeline, the people of Nelson County see a different picture. They have established a strong and growing public voice in opposition to the self serving propaganda of fossil fuel companies and their bought politicians.
Friends of Nelson, the Pipeline Education Group, All Pain No Gain and Free Nelson are some of the groups that have formed an alliance in Nelson County. In SOLIDARITY with others around Virginia, and the world, may we, arm in arm, turn this thing around!
May we move swiftly towards renewable resources and retire the fossil fuel and nuclear industries that are just slowing down progress toward sustainable energy sources. Investing in renewables is the best investment a state can make in the future if it really wants economic growth and healthy, happy citizens.
K Robins. I was born and raised in Virginia and reside there in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. An epiphany of sorts occurred around 1980 and I began to see life in a new way. While my young children played nicely upstairs I would steal away to my basement shop where I normally made furniture, cooking utensils and an assortment of other wooden things. Now to my amazement, out of the wood and sawdust, a series of female figurines was erupting. The original cherry, boxwood, rosewood and ebony symbols and figures have evolved into a line of silver pendants that includes nearly 100 designs.
Many of the jewelry designs come from my fascination with the language of symbols and how the art of different cultures and times echoes around the world. All cultures surround themselves with symbols of some sort and naturally pass them reverently from generation to generation. These symbols lift up and guide us through life’s interwoven cycles of birth, life, death and rebirth.
